First Boot & TUI Setup

When you power on an EdgeZu device for the first time, it launches a Text User Interface (TUI) accessible via local console or SSH.

EdgeZu Setup
1) Configure Network
2) Register Device
3) Diagnostics
4) Exit
  1. Configure Network

Select interface eth0 (WAN/DMZ side) and choose DHCP or static IP:

    Interface: eth0
    Mode: DHCP

    For static configuration, provide:

    • IP address and subnet mask
    • Default gateway
    • DNS servers (recommended: 1.1.1.1, 8.8.8.8)

Configure eth1 for the OT/IT network interface. This interface does not need internet access.

  2. Register Device

Before proceeding, generate a Registration Key in the Monozu Cloud:

    • Go to Settings → EdgeZu Devices → New Device
    • Select your site
    • Copy the generated registration key

Enter the details in the TUI:

    Cloud Server: EU (Poland)
    Account Name: your-tenant-name
    Registration Key: XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX

    The device will:

    • Generate a unique Device ID
    • Generate a public/private key pair
    • Register itself with your tenant
  3. Confirm registration

    On success:

    Device successfully registered
    Device ID: edge-34abf2
    Status: Connected

The device now appears in Settings → EdgeZu Devices in the cloud.

Once registered, the device is cloud-managed. You can:

  • Monitor device health from the cloud dashboard
  • Push configuration updates remotely
  • Enable/disable scanning modules
  • Trigger OTA firmware updates
