Adding Assets

Manually add assets when discovery has not run yet, when you need a placeholder before commissioning, or to enrich records that were auto-discovered.

  • Module access: module.assets
  • Permissions: assets.read and assets.create (Admin group has full access)
  1. Go to Assets / CMDB (/assets) and click Add Asset, or open /assets/new directly.

  2. Enter Name (required) and select a Site (required).

  3. Optionally set network identity (IP address, hostname, MAC), Vendor / Model, Firmware / OS, Device type, Network zone, VLAN, Criticality, and Lifecycle state.

  4. Optionally choose a Supervisor asset if this device is supervised by another asset in the CMDB.

  5. Click Save Asset. You are redirected to the asset detail page where you can link incidents, vulnerabilities, and changes.

From the asset detail view you can:

  • Edit fields and supervision relationships
  • Review linked incidents, changes, vulnerabilities, and backups
  • Open the site or zone records for topology context
