Sites & Zones

Sites, zones, and VLANs structure the CMDB and align with how OT/IT teams think about location and segmentation.

Tenant
└── Site (factory, office, data center)
├── Network zones (Purdue levels)
├── VLANs (L2 segments)
└── Assets

A site is a physical or logical location. Assets, edge appliances, and diagrams are scoped to a site.

  1. Go to Sites (/sites).
  2. Create or open a site; set name, location, and status.
  3. From a site detail page, manage related zones and assets.

Zones map assets to Purdue-style levels (e.g. field devices, control, operations, IT/DMZ). Assign zones when creating or editing assets so incidents and diagrams reflect real network placement.

  1. Go to Zones (/zones).
  2. Create zones per site or use tenant reference data as configured by your administrator.

VLANs document L2 segments at a site. Use them for asset IP context and documentation — not as a live switching control plane.

  1. Go to VLANs (/vlans).
  2. Maintain VLAN IDs, names, and site association.
