Change Validation Rules

Change validation settings define extra checks before changes submit or approve — for example required fields, maintenance conflicts, or approver groups.

Requires Admin or appropriate settings write permission (see Permissions).

  1. Go to SettingsChange validation (/settings/change-validation).

  2. Review existing rules and how they apply to change types.

  3. Add or edit rules to match your OT change advisory board policy (required fields, approvers, maintenance windows).

  4. Click Save and test with a sample change in a non-production tenant if possible.

  5. Communicate rule changes to change managers and approvers.
